Comment: The post below is from a Truth Squad member. This site has previously reported that journalism associations are in essence being paid to push Obamacare. So here’s our question: Is Obamacare propaganda money also finding its way directly or indirectly to other media and pop culture figures?
Seems like left-wing cartoonists are going all-out to defend Obamacare and Obama’s lies about it.
Stephan Pastis draws Pearls Before Swine, an irreverent, counter-culture cartoon that has developed a large following. The stars are zany animals with names like Pig, Rat, and Zebra. The most popular characters are dim-witted alligators constantly trying (with monumental lack of success) to devour the rest of the cast.
In the past, Pastis occasionally injected leftie commentary into his cartoons. (A San Francisco lawyer is a leftie — who’s surprised?) But it’s never been too overt. Now, apparently, he is shilling for Obamacare and Obama’s lies to sell it.
In the March 3 Pearls Before Swine cartoon, Zebra says, “I hear a lot of doctors are closing down their practices these days because they’re tired of dealing with insurance companies.” Wrong, Stephan! You’re either a lousy fact-checker or an Obamacare propagandist. Doctors are quitting because of Obamacare — as we’ve detailed on this site here and here, just for starters.
The strip’s final panel shows a duck in a combat helmet pointing a weapon at an HMO administrator. Our suggestion: know-it-all libs like Pastis should go on Medicaid to experience government-run health care to the fullest. Go on, Stephan. Put your money where your mouth is. Then come back and tell us how much you love it.
The very next day, the March 4 installment of the Pearls Before Swine comic, “Doctor” Rat advises a reluctant patient to take “56 different drugs,” dismissing the patient’s concerns saying, “My pharmaceutical rep pays for some very nice conferences.” Rat is not even a real doctor; he just opened an office one day to make money. (Hate for doctors, hate for drug companies…sounds a lot like an Obama speech, doesn’t it?) So, Stephan, if you or your family take advanced medications, how do you live with yourselves? Given how much you seem to hate pharmaceutical companies. And doctors.
“Oh, lighten up!” I hear people saying. Well, no. When an alleged counter-culture cartoonist turns into a shill, it’s not funny anymore. Here’s one fan that’s now an ex-fan. Others are encouraged to follow suit.
