“I applied for a subsidy for my husband via phone. He was awarded a subsidy based on my income’s adjusted gross income from the previous years tax return. I was perfectly clear that I was on Social Security Disability. I was clear this was only partially taxable on the 1040 form. No other income. He said we qualified for over 1000 dollars a month in addition to us paying over 500 dollars a month. The rep said he would waive any proof of income! I now find out we are over the limit of their formula for adjusted gross income and will have to pay back over 13000 dollars in subside when our taxes are filed! Please publicize our story. There is no help for us. No accountability when contacting them or government officials.”
