Comment: The United States government estimates, “In 2013, there were an estimated 14,140,254 people living with cancer” in the United States, out of a population estimated at 316 million. That’s about 4.5 percent. This means that, thanks to Obamacare, at least 1,800 of the 40,000 Connecticutians about to lose their plans have cancer – probably more, since Obamacare exchange populations tend to be sicker than the population as a whole. Those are flesh and blood human beings who are now suffering because of Obamacare’s broken promises and poor design. Or doesn’t their suffering count, in your book? You can keep your plan, except when you can’t. Thanks Obamacare. Not.
“About 40,000 people will lose their health insurance in the coming months as a result of a state evaluation that has deemed the financial health of Connecticut’s nonprofit health care co-op unstable.”
“This leaves just two providers on the state’s health-care insurance exchange, Access Health CT, in the coming years. United Healthcare announced in April it would leave the exchange after this year. Plans from Anthem and ConnectiCare remain available to consumers.”
State deems insurance co-op, HealthyCT, financially unstable
